To maintain and regulate national standards in home inspections, to advance the knowledge, skill and status of those engaged in that field, to disseminate information to Government bodies and to the public regarding the home inspection industry, and to become involved in other related businesses.

To promote public awareness and confidence in the home inspector.

To promote excellence within the profession and to improve inspection service through the CAHPI/ASHI Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.

To interact with related professions, the legal community and government bodies as the leading authority in the home and building inspection profession.
